Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

NYSE-listed AgEagle Aerial Systems is seeking a talented, experienced and motivated senior embedded systems engineer who will focus on developing embedded software and firmware for our current and future payloads and sensor systems. The ideal candidate will possess a wide variety of software engineering skills, people skills, and should be an expert in all aspects of embedded software design.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate embedded systems team to ensure that all are tasked appropriately and working synergistically to meet company goals
• Develop embedded software for imaging and remote sensing payload systems
• Design and implement large portions of software components from the ground up
• Design and implement modules on FPGA
• Design and implement software tools to facilitate production and test of hardware products
• Maintain existing software when issues are discovered

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree, or advanced degree, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science preferred
• Experience developing embedded Linux applications
• Experience developing Linux drivers
• Working knowledge of Linux-based development environments
• Strong knowledge of C/C++
• Experience working hands-on with hardware, and using electronic test equipment (multi-meter, oscilloscope, power supply, soldering)
• Self-motivated, and able to take ownership of a project, seeing it through with minimal oversight
• Familiar with version control methods for managing large software projects
• Experience developing “bare-metal” RTOS applications
• FPGA design experience (Verilog or VHDL)
• Strong sense of curiosity and a desire to learn new skills
• Experience with Python or similar interpreted languages, a plus
• Experience with native mobile applications on Android and/or iOS, a plus
• Image processing experience (especially OpenCV or VXL), a plus
• Robotics or unmanned aircraft experience, a plus
