Job Summary:

NYSE-listed AgEagle Aerial Systems is seeking an experienced and motivated manufacturing engineer who will be responsible for managing the production of current products as well as helping the Vice President of Operations with transitioning new products from prototype to production. Included in these responsibilities are designing and manufacturing fixtures and special tools, line creation, production schedule, production budget, and addressing any technical issues that arise during manufacturing. The Manufacturing Engineer will constantly work towards improving processes to decrease errors and increase productivity. In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer will also be responsible for organizing the distribution of the end product.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and build fixtures under the supervision of the Vice President of Operations
  • Help identify root cause of failures and devise mitigation steps for excessive fallout or faulty product
  • Work with the manufacturing team to assess manufacturability and assembly ease of products
  • Participate and contribute ideas in design reviews
  • Work with Vice President of Operations to transition prototypes into production
  • Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions used for the manufacturing of prototype and production products
  • Validate that the “as-designed” configuration of released engineering is accurately and completed included in manufacturing work instructions
  • Manage and improve inventory process
  • Manage contract manufacturer (CM) builds, including but not limited to:
    • Diagnosing and fixing problems during manufacturing
    • Improving yield at CM
    • Insuring a seamless and efficient multi-national supply chain
  • Find vendors and facilitate the relationship between the CM and the supply chain
  • Identify ways to further reduce the BOM or labor costs for all parts being produced
  • Utilize Product Line Management tools (Arena) to enter, update, and maintain BOM and drawings for new and existing parts
Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
  • Minimum 5-years experience in manufacturing/production environment
  • Experience with Surface Mounted Technology (SMT) processes, quality control, and root cause analysis/FMEA
  • Hands on work is required and expected using various shop tools including CNC machines
  • Understanding of various industry standard processes including injection molding, CNC machining, stamping, laser and waterjet cutting, etc.
  • Experience with 3D printing technology, should be able to explain the difference between SLS, FDM, DMLS, etc.
  • Extensive experience using Solidworks, Fusion 360 or similar including complex surfacing, GD&T, molding tools
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited interaction but also able to collaborate on projects
  • Ability to advocate for best path forward among competing ideas and priorities
  • Demonstrated programming ability in Python, C/C++, or other scripting language, a plus
  • Experience with SMT programming, PCB layout and design, or ability to build PCB/PCBAs, a plus
  • Professional Engineer Certification, a plus
